A New Word for an Old Knowing

Ecority brings together three ideas: ecological awareness, the security that grows from that, and the integrity needed to sustain it.

The word is deliberately new, because the idea it names is new.

Think. Feel. Act. ECORITY.

01

What does Ecority mean?

Ecority is a word weaving together ecology and security, with the promise of the kind of wellbeing for our species that can only come from unified integrity.

At its most basic, Ecority is the source code for a new way of being human, one where we take responsibility for the care of all life, in how we treat each other and the world beyond the human.

02

The Civilisational Moment

The world-system, fuelled by competition and extraction, has become catastrophically inefficient. The cost of keeping its decaying order going now exceeds the energy it can sensibly harness.

An economic system that measures its own health by how fast it turns living systems into dead commodities is not an economy in any real sense. It is a planetary clearance sale.

We are at a threshold. Ecority names both the crisis and the response.

03

Not a New Civilisation, a New Orientation

The temptation, and the trap, is to answer the collapse of one civilisation with another: a shiny replacement that claims to have all the answers. Ecority is not that.

Ecority offers an orientation, not a destination. It asks one question: what would it mean to treat ecological security as the ground from which every decision is made?

The answer will look different in every place, every community, every life. That is not a weakness of the idea. It is the point.

04

A Framework for the Future

Ecority is not only a philosophy. It is a practical model for finding our way through what comes next. At its core is the RAISE framework, a moral compass for organisations and societies.

  • Responsiveness: the ability to anticipate change and adapt to it.
  • Adaptiveness: the capacity to alter how we are structured and how we behave as the world changes.
  • Intelligence and intentionality: shared meaning, foresight and purpose.
  • Sustainability: making sure what we do does not drain natural or cultural wealth.
  • Ecority: the ethical care of all life, the idea that anchors the other four.
05

Beyond the Monoculture of Mind

The truth of Ecority lies in bringing together logic, feeling and intuition so they work as one coherent whole, mirroring the way life itself is interconnected.

  • Propositional: facts and concepts.
  • Procedural: skills and practice, knowing how.
  • Perspectival: the feel of a situation, and your point of view within it.
  • Participatory: the understanding that comes from being in relationship with other people and the land.
  • Rhythmic: a sense of timing, cycles and natural flow.
  • Ancestral: deep-time wisdom and inherited cultural memory.
06

The role of the Trust

The Trust does not govern Ecority. It seeds it. Its concern is the whole living Earth, and everything alive on it benefits.

It acts not by directing, but by connecting, giving people across every culture and every experience of life the means to think and act differently about what truly matters.
